Conferencing

Share anything, with anybody, anywhere

The Intranet Video Conferencing module allows you to share live medical video, and optionally discuss or comment in real-time. You can access the feed from any place in the hospital, via the data network. It allows you to teach, collaborate, supervise, demonstrate, discuss a case live, ask the opinion of a colleague, or allow an assistant to remotely follow the intervention.

In other words, the Video Conferencing extension gives you access to a world of amazingly easy and intuitive telepresence and telecommunication.

How does it work?

When the broadcast is activated in the operating room, a request for so called transcoding is sent to the 'operating room server'.

A user accesses the video streams via a web interface, where a web portal provides authentication.

Authorized users can choose between a list of 'virtual operating rooms'. Once an operating room selected, a set of active thumbnails will appear for each video source enabled for broadcast. When clicked on a thumbnail, a larg scale image will appear (which can also be rendered fullscreen).

The remote viewer (depending on its access rights) can activate the speaker and eventually his microphone, to communicate with the surgeon.
