20-10-2011 | eSATURNUS Symposium - When Experienced Knowledge meets Science

The first eSATURNUS symposium took place on the 29th of September. The event was without any doubt a great success. With numerous people related to international health attending, the event was not only a great way to get informed but was also a opportunity to extend the network of those present. At the end of the symposium, the public witnessed the NUCLeUS™ system with the live stream of an ongoing operation at the OLVZ hospital in Aalst (BE).  This is one part that will change European health care.

Main topic of this event was the current OR workflow, the way it looks like and how it will evolve in a digital future. During the symposium, there were debates and reflections. Although the common atmosphere was very positive, it seemed clear that the health care sector still faces some important challenges:
How can doctors minimize their paperwork and focus on patient care? How can we continue to improve the health care through technical innovations? How can technical evolutions contribute to the improvement of education? Will electronic health records break through? How will the 21th century patient manage his personal data? And so on.

Capture the atmosphere
